Landa

Landa is a series of three speculative developer single family residences on three contiguous hillside lots in the very desirable Silverlake area in Los Angeles. Within a typical development scenario, the builder would want three identical homes for cost and construction efficiencies. In this case, the sites all had individual size and shape, steep topography, and varied geology. The one thing they shared was an amazing view of downtown. Working within the restrictive LA Hillside Area Development Standards limited floor area, bulk, envelope height, and the limited street width dictated parking, fire and refuse access. What developed was three distinct homes with different personalities. The first sold before it was constructed, the other two were built by the developer.
